Last month I was holed up in Philadelphia working as Demi Moore’s personal hairdresser on her new film, Happy Tears, in which she and Parker Posey star as sisters.

After finishing the film I came back to the UK to finalise the plans for my eco-friendly product launch and sign off the bottles and packaging which I’m really pleased with the packaging is all made from the material with no metal bits in the pumps , so is really easy and economical to recycle because nothing has to be separated. The swing tag with all the product info is made of handmade paper impregnated with wild flower seeds, so you can plant it when you’re done with it and it’ll grow into wild flowers! I’m really excited about the upcoming launch…

While I was in London I did Donna Air’s hair for a new commercial she was shooting.

It was back to the US then and to New York this time, where I styled Marisa Tomei’s hair for an appearance on the Good Morning Live With Regis and Kelly TV show, and for the fabulous red carpet Tony Awards - Marisa’ s been appearing in a play called Top Girls on Broadway.

While I was in NY I attended the Wayuu Taya Foundation charity event that my friend, model and actress Patricia Velasquez runs for the indigenous children of Latin America. I’m now packing very lightly to head off to Guatemala where I’ll spend the next week helping to build houses with the charity CCDA. I think it’s really important to give back in a tangible way - I’ll let you know how I get on soon…

Love and Light,

Tara Smith
